Abstract
This paper proposes a configuration method for islanded microgrid with wind, solar PV, gas turbine, and energy storage system. The objective is to minimize the annual cost of the microgrid. The microgrid's cost model is established, considering capital investment cost, operation and maintenance cost, and replacement cost. Configuration results with adopting lithium battery and compressed air energy storage under different renewable penetration are discussed. The configuration result shows that a microgrid with a compressed air energy storage system has a lower annual cost than a lithium battery.
