Abstract
Based on the imaging principle of wavelength division 3D technology, a wide angle complementary three band pass filter films are designed. The three pairs of complementary passbands of the two filters can cover the RGB trichromatic spectral range exactly by simulation designing, and each pair of complementary passbands is staggered and hardly overlapped. Through the study of thin film materials, appropriate materials are selected as the equivalent spacer of Fabry Perot filter, which improves the energy dispersion phenomenon and the crosstalk effect of complementary filter at large angle of incidence, and comprehensively improves the passband transmittance and spectral coverage at large angle of incidence. The complementary filter was fabricated by RF magnetron sputtering and inductively coupled etching technology. The experimental test and analysis results show that the passband transmittance of the developed complementary three band pass filter film is more than 96% at 0° incidence, and the transmitted light conforms to the color balance index and meets the design requirements. The development of the filters is expected to further improve the imaging defects in 3D projection system.
