Abstract
Highway emergency vehicle routing plays a crucial role in reducing response times and increasing the efficiency of emergency services. This paper proposes a comprehensive highway emergency vehicle routing optimization model that considers traffic congestion, incident severity, and emergency vehicle availability. The proposed model aims to minimize the total response time, maximize the success rate of emergency response, and optimize the utilization of emergency vehicles. We implement the model using mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) and test its performance on a realworld dataset. The results demonstrate the effectiveness and practicality of the proposed model for optimizing emergency vehicle routing on highways.
