Abstract
With the rapid advancement of industrialization and the Internet of Things, "Industry 4.0" will propel industrialization and informatization to a new stage of development simultaneously. The MQTT protocol, as a lightweight transmission protocol widely utilized in the industrial Internet of Things transmission environment, faces stringent security requirements for industrial data transmission. Traditional use of the MQTT protocol may result in identity authentication deficiencies and plaintext message content transmission, among other security issues. To address these concerns, this paper proposes an MQTT-DH encryption scheme based on symmetric encryption. By incorporating the Diffie-Hellman algorithm into the process of establishing connections between MQTT clients and servers, communication parties can generate a shared secret key to verify each other's identities. Furthermore, to enhance security post-MQTT connection establishment, session counters and shared secret keys are introduced as initialization vectors for AES-CBC encryption algorithms. This enhancement significantly improves data security levels. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed encryption scheme maintains excellent performance and high security across numerous data encryption tests while providing efficient and secure services for industrial data transmission.
