Abstract
We design an elliptical hole waveguide to significantly enhance the optical field localization and confinement in the device. By optimizing the parameters of the proposed device, a flat dispersion region in the communication band is obtained to satisfy the phase matching condition. As a result, the simulated conversion efficiency of the four-wave mixing process is improved by 5.9 dB compared to similar silicon strip waveguide devices.
