Abstract
A rigorous analysis of 3-D discontinuity problem in dielectric waveguide is presented by the methodwhich combines the multimode network theory with the rigorous mode matching procedure both in thetransverse section and in the longitudinal direction. Good agreement has been found between the numericalresults and the experimental data in the literature, and the effectiveness and accuracy of the present methodare thus justified.
