Abstract
The technique of Algorithm-Based Fault Tolerance was developed as a low-cost scheme for providing concurrent error detection and fault location in computation-intensive applications. This paper describes some of the recent work in this area, including new encoding schemes, modeling techniques, and experimental evaluation. Possible directions for future research are pointed out.
