Abstract
Fibre optic Bragg gratings are attracting considerable interest as sensing elements in quasi-distributed sensors.1 ,2 The grating takes the form of a periodically varying refractive index written into germania doped fibres to reflect light at a wavelength ?=2nD where n is the mode refractive index and D is the grating period.
