Abstract
Numerical aperture is an important parameter in design, manufacturing and application of optical fiber and optical fiber sensor. Numerical aperture of multimode fibers with curvature was rarely investigated. Fu Huaijie e. t. only concluded for numerical aperture of incoming ray on Xo equals 0, yo equals 0 of optical fiber end surface. Actually, numerical aperture of different incoming point is different, because optical fiber cylindrical symmetrical character was destroyed, the concluded equation doesn't have universal significance. In this paper we derive the numerical aperture equation of bending plane ray, using scaler quality proximate theory and ray equation. We show our conclusion and discuss its significance.
