Abstract
Optical tolerancing is a critical step in the optical design process. Tolerancing is when the engineer works to ensure that the as-built system will perform properly. This paper will discuss past, current, and possible future methods of optical tolerancing. The goal of the paper is to stimulate a discussion on this important topic in the greater optical design community.
