Abstract
The advent of web service technology promotes the development of GIS interoperability. However, limiting to the current web service technology, information still can not be exchanged and shared semantically, leading to find matched services difficultly or to discover numerously redundant results. In this paper, after analyzing current problems existing in geospatial web service, a semantic geospatial web service framework was put forward. Under this framework, geospatial web service ontology was depicted and the method of semantic description and discovery of geospatial web service was discussed in detail.
