Abstract
A novel method of measuring the steam quality based on wavelength modulation surface plasmon resonance is proposed. The surface plasmon resonance is implemented using the Kretschmann geometry with an Au layer deposited on a BK7 prism. The steam quality can be determined from the measured resonance wavelength as well as the pressure and temperature of the steam. The results show the possibility of a real-time, high-resolution quantitative measurement of steam quality with the proposed method.
