Abstract
Surface plasmon-coupled emission (SPCE) microscopy provides high sensitivity for surface imaging due to the field enhancement effect of surface plasmon resonance. Based on previous theoretical and experimental studies, SPCE microscopy (SPCEM) generates an unusual annular-shape point spread function (PSF). In order to correct the distorted PSF without numerical deconvolution, an experimental method with a spiral phase plate (SPP) has been proposed. However the three-dimensional nature of PSF has not been explored in the past. In this study, we performed a theoretical study to obtain three-dimensional PSF of SPCE microscopy.
