Author Affiliations +
Abstract
Intermediate-grade interferometer fiber optic gyroscopes (IFOGs) have already been used in various space applications. The IFOG made by Japan Aviation Electronics Industry Ltd. (JAE) was used in the NASDA TR-1A rocket (1991–1998). This experiment, starting in 1991, marked the world’s first space application of the IFOG.
