We make a geometrical analysis of optical arrays having the spatial integration feature. A complete study of the ray tracing and the energy propagation along the thick lens array is made. This analysis enables us to find some design criteria for the choice of the free parameters to optimize the total amount of energy delivered on the synthetic image plane.
