Area of Expertise:
Meteorological Satellites , Remote Sensing , Systems Engineering , Data Analysis
Profile Summary

Mr. Battles has over 32 years of experience in aerospace engineering, primarily in the area of infrared and microwave remote sensors. He has worked within industry both in the United States and in Europe, and has over 10 years of experience working as a contractor to NASA and NOAA. Currently under contract as a systems engineer for NOAA, Mr. Battles is the technical lead for NOAA in Europe on the European weather satellite, MetOp. His roles on MetOp include support to NOAA instruments integration, satellite systems and environmental testing, launch and in-orbit operations support, as well as in-orbit performance monitoring of the NOAA instruments onboard MetOp-A and -B.
