SC1305: Organic and Hybrid Perovskite Photovoltaics: Materials, Mechanisms, and Devices
This course covers the foundational material science, device physics, and engineering of organic photovoltaics and metal halide perovskite photovoltaics. It will provide a comprehensive overview of the working principles and key challenges to the future development of both technologies. Emphasis will be placed on conceptual understanding of how material properties impact device behavior and how device architecture dictates device efficiency. Examples of numerical modeling of device physics and photovoltaic equivalent circuits will be presented. Pathways to higher efficiency future devices in both technologies will be discussed.
