Dr. Zhihong Zhang is a professor at Britton Chance Center for Biomedical Photonics, Wuhan National Lab for Optoelectronics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in China. She is the awardee of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of China. Her research has focused on immune-optical imaging. To visualize immune reactions, she developed multiscale optical imaging methods, a series of engineered peptide-lipid nanoprobes/drugs/vaccines, and red-shifted fluorescent protein probes. These optical imaging and labeling methods achieved the goal of long-term monitoring of the immune response process, visualization of the fine vascular structure and the spatial distribution of immunocytes in liver. Dr. Zhang is the first or corresponding author of over 50 papers published in Nature Communications, Light: Science & Applications, eLife, Theranostics, Autophagy, ACS Nano. She is the Editorial Board Members of Cellular & Molecular Immunology, European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, Bioconjugate Chemistry, and Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics.
