I have over 7 years of hands-on laboratory experience designing, building, and testing fiber optic/free space optical detection systems. A large part of this work was centered around multi-channel vibrometers, which illuminated a 2D grid-like array of focused IR beams onto a target capturing the time-evolution of its surface displacements, and thereby revealing subsurface anomalies. I then joined a Los Angeles based startup as a Photonics Engineer focused on bringing coherent LiDAR products to the defense, robotics, and automotive markets. My work centered around systems level test and evaluation in lab and field environments. These products provided low latency, high resolution x.y.z positional data on targets, as well as instantaneous velocity, and TE and TM polarization data for every voxel. I now serve as a civilian scientist with the U.S. Navy. I am Directed Energy Analyst focused on the performance assessment of naval directed energy systems.
