Abstract
Results of investigations of spectral, thermal and laser operation characteristics of crystal Q-switches for the YAG:Nd-5+ laser, which utilize the properties of LiF crystals containing color centres, are reported. Results are also presented of measurements of thermal and photochemical stabilities and of the kinetics of interaction of [F2], [F2+] and [F2-] color centres generated in LiF crystals by means of exposure to γ radiation from Cf-252, Cs-137 and Co-60 sources.
