Abstract
In order to explore the effect of low temperature plasma reactors on the degradation of organic wastewater, a plate dielectric barrier discharge reactor was designed with copper foil as electrodes and quartz as a dielectric barrier. Under the output voltage of 13kV, 4mg.L-1 methylene blue solution was used to simulate organic waste liquid and degradation. The width X of the discharge electrode, the gap D between two discharge plates, and the height of the discharge distance from the liquid surface H were changed to explore their effects on the degradation of methylene blue. It was found that the smaller electrode width its electric field density is high and easy to discharge that had better degradation of methylene blue. A smaller discharge space is not easy to transfer the discharge products, will cause accumulation, saturation, and reduce the decolorization rate of the methylene blue solution. The height of the discharge electrode from the treatment liquid surface will affect the life of the active substances, resulting in a decrease in the decolorization rate of methylene blue. All research results provide necessary reference factors and new ideas for the design of plasma reactors to treat organic wastewater.
