Abstract
Steel slag belongs to bulk industrial solid waste, and it is of great significance to carry out comprehensive application research of steel slag, which will help to realize the secondary resource and efficient utilization of steel slag. FeO and Fe2O3 in converter steel slag can be reduced to metallic iron in high temperature reducing atmosphere, which lays the foundation for optimizing the composition and structure of steel slag and improving the gelling activity of steel slag. In this paper, bituminous coal was used as reducing agent to carry out the reconstruction experiment of mineral composition of converter steel slag. The influence of bituminous coal content and reaction time on the cementitious activity of reconstructed steel slag was studied, and the mechanism of reduction and tempering was analyzed. The results show that the cementitious activity of the converter steel slag is significantly improved after reconstitution, and the 7 d, 28 d and 90 d activity indices of the mortar samples can reach 84%, 99% and 87%, respectively. Mineral composition analysis indicates that the reconstructed steel slag compositions are composed mainly of alite, belite, C2F, C6AF2 and Fe2O3. After reconstruction, the formation of C6AF2 is found because of the combination of the aluminate phase and the ferrite phase at high temperature.
