Abstract
Kerr and Faraday effects are established tools for magneto-optical characterizations. They provide a versatile yet sensitive approach to study respective surface and bulk magnetism [1-3]. Due to similarity of optical path, it is possible to realize simultaneous detection of both Faraday and polar Kerr effects in one setup. In this work, detail description of a magneto-optical setup detecting Faraday and polar Kerr effects simultaneously is presented. Optimization of signal detection in this setup is analyzed using Jones matrix formalism. Advantages of simultaneous detection of the two magneto-optical signals are demonstrated.
