Abstract
Imaging the complete and true surface of an individual fruit is difficult. The mirror is one of the important auxiliary devices for obtaining the full-surface image. To quickly obtain the full-surface image information of the spherical fruit, this paper proposes a method for acquiring equal-scale images of the whole surface of the spherical fruit by taking one exposure using one CCD camera and multiple concave spherical mirrors, which is different from directly studying image processing algorithms. An imaging scheme configuration method is proposed, and the imaging elements are configured by using the general equation instead of the traditional trial-and-error method. The acquired image is a set of atlases consisting of a front image and a plurality of back images distributed circumferentially around the front image, and each back image is tangent to the front image. Experiments show that each image in the collection is roughly equal in size and shape, eliminating the need for image segmentation and scaling during image data processing. Moreover, this study adopts the same distortion evaluation method to evaluate the overall distortion degree of the collective image at one time, thereby improving the data processing speed and processing capacity of the machine vision system.
