Abstract
Risley prisms beam steering system is designed to meet the demand of light and compactness of the satellite-based laser communication load. The beam pointing solution model is established by Sneer's law in vector form, and the effects of element parameter errors, prism rotation angle errors, and mounting errors on the pointing accuracy are analyzed. It is found that the azimuth angle is more sensitive to the above error sources compared to the pitch angle; the assembly error of prism II has more influence on the pointing error compared to prism I.
