Abstract
The cooling system is one of the essential systems for the normal operation of vehicle engine. This article takes a 1.5L naturally aspirated vehicle model as the prototype, a simplified simulation model is established by using Amesim software. And the performance of engine cooling system is simulated under extremely cold and normal temperature conditions. In addition, the effects of multiple influencing factors such as water pump transmission ratio, radiator row number, and radiator windward area are further analyzed on cooling performance under normal temperature conditions. The simulation results show that the radiator row number has a significant impact on the performance for the cooling system, the water pump transmission ratio and radiator windward area also play an important role. The research in this article is beneficial for early development of the cooling system components influencing factors in projects. It can enable the product development team to quickly develop and select optimal solution schemes. That is to say the design cycle of the cooling system can be greatly shorten, and the research in this article has certain engineering application value.
