Abstract
The Greenland Ice Sheet accounts for 10% of the world's total ice volume, and if all of it melts, it will lead to a global sea level rise of 6 to 7m. As the world's second-largest continental ice sheet, it is surrounded by many overflowing glaciers, whose melting causes more ice to be injected into the sea. Therefore, in order to carry out the dynamic monitoring of the surface motion of the overflow glacier, this paper uses Sentinel-1A as the data source and Petermann Glacier in NW Greenland as the study area, and the offset tracking algorithm has been used to obtain information on the distribution of surface flow velocity of the glacier in 2021.Meanwhile, the results of ice flow rate in odd-numbered months in 2021 are taken as an example, and the ice flow rate monitoring results in this paper are verified to be highly reliable by comparing them with the publicly available ice flow rate data on the official website. Finally, the ice flow velocity was analysed in the direction of the 2 profile lines along the flow sample zone and the cross-flow sample zone, and the trend of ice flow velocity showed high consistency overall.
