Abstract
In order to explore the impact of water resources development and utilization on the ecological environment of the Taohe River Basin and coordinate the relationship between water energy development and ecological environment protection, this paper analyzes the impact of water resources development and utilization on the ecological environment of the Taohe River Basin by using the data of runoff, sediment, land use types and remote sensing ecological index for many years. The results show that: 1) After the construction of hydropower station, the proportion of runoff in flood season is relatively reduced, while the proportion in non-flood season is relatively increased; the water quantity decreased in summer and autumn and increased in winter. 2) The silt of Taohe River mainly comes from flood period, and the sediment transport in summer is the largest, up to 82.26% of the annual sediment transport; the sediment transport showed a decreasing trend from 1991 to 2021. 3) During the 40 years from 1980 to 2020, the transfer area of grassland, forest land and cultivated land in the Taohe River Basin has been changed to some extent, but the small difference between the area transferred in and the area transferred out, resulting in the overall change of land use types area in the study area during this period was not large. 4) The RSEI ecological index in the Taohe River Basin from 1990 to 2020 was at a medium level, but showed an overall upward trend; the spatial distribution shows the pattern of "upstream is better than downstream", and the areas with poor environmental quality are concentrated in the downstream areas.
