Abstract
Parking space detection is an important part of an automatic parking system, and its detection performance determines the final parking effect. In this paper, a yolov8-based parking space detection algorithm is used, and the speed of detection is greatly improved because we propose an end-to-end network. The main research work is as follows: a yolov8 based instance segmentation model is used to process the image, the result of the instance segmentation is converted into a gray scale map and then feature contour points are extracted, and then a polygon fitting algorithm is used to correctly detect parking spaces in the map. The detection using this method is better, but the speed is reduced. The network structure was also modified and a new loss function was invoked to further improve the accuracy of the model.
