Abstract
In this paper, a single-mode watertight 4 channels fiber optic expander beam connectors are developed based on the ball lens. The design principle, the overall structure and sealing structure design and performance test is introduced in detail. After the test, the insertion loss indexes reach the design requirements, and the resistance to water pressure indexes meet the demand of 6000 m depth of underwater use. The watertight fiber optic connector can be used in underwater optical transmission and sensing system, marine oil and gas exploration and exploitation and other fields, and it has wide application prospect.
