The photoisomerization of azobenzene derivative will cause a change in adhesiveness. With this character, some major developments have been made in different adhesive systems. The photothermal effect and photoisomerization of azobenzene under UV light contribute to the conversion of bond strength. This paper summarizes the research achievements and applications of azobenzene derivatives-based optical switch adhesives. And it would put forward the prospect of the next development of photosensitive adhesives.
