In the large span crossing of the Yangtze River Fengcheng-Meili 500 kV transmission line project Transmission Line, Jiangsu province, traction rope had been used as the main element in a one-time continuous deployment scheme for line erection. The traction rope is a steel wire rope with a diameter of 32 mm, a length of 4800 m, and a weight of 20.3 t. The deployment time should be less than 40 minutes. In order to solve the engineering and technical problems, it is necessary to establish a unified analysis and calculation method for the force between the traction rope and the drum. This paper analyzes the forming process of steel wire rope on the drum, establishes a model and explains it, and puts forward a calculation method for the pressure of steel wire rope on the drum during multi-layer winding, which can obtain the radial force at different winding angles and positions, thus laying a theoretical foundation for designing the automatic deployment system and guiding the construction.
