Abstract
Defects often emerged on diaphragm wall of pit foundation during construction period, which is a key problem that causes engineering disasters. A finite element model considering the leakage on diaphragm wall is established based on numerical method, to study soil settlement and lateral displacement of diaphragm wall caused by excavation and leakage under complicated geological conditions. The research shows that when diaphragm wall has is leakage hole, the soil increases significantly due to the consolidation of soil layer above the leakage hole, and the deeper the leakage hole is, the greater the maximum settlement resulted. When the depth of the leakage hole is 2.5m and 18m, the maximum settlement increases by 69% and 235% compared with that without leakage. Under the influence of increasing effective consolidation stress of soil layer above the leakage hole, an increase of horizontal displacement on diaphragm wall resulted, as the depth of the leakage hole increased from 2.5m to 18m, maximum horizontal displacement increases approximately 18% and 44% compared with no leakage conditions.
