Abstract
The use of a rectangular aperture for the coupling of a microstrip line to a patch antenna, a dipole antenna, or another microstrip antenna is explored. The relevant theoretical and experimental results are reported. It is noted that the circuits considered here should have many applications for phase arrays, MMIC and MIC packaging, and microwave circuit interconnects.
