Abstract
The short-term statistical characteristics of the point spread function of a linear aperture in the presence of turbulent atmosphere are introduced. It is shown that these characteristics exhibit adequately the behavior of the random diffraction pattern in the case of atmospheric turbulence having Kolmogorov spectrum.
