Abstract
We present new results on optical data storage in Filled Nematics. This new material consisting of a small fraction of inorganic particles of nm-size in the nematic phase of a liquid crystal, is used for laser addressed bistable scattering type of displays and for optical data storage. High resolution (< 5001ines/mm), good contrast and brightness, continous greyscale and good sensitivity are some of its characteristics.
