Abstract
Polymer-based holographic recording materials have been employed by us for holography and nonlinear optics. Recently, we have reported poly(vinyl alcohol) doped with ferric chloride (FePVA) as a recording material for volume transmission holograms. different spectroscopic techniques have been employed to investigate the mechanism of hologram formation in FePVA films. UV-Visible, ESR, FTIR and Mossbauer spectroscopic results are presented and a mechanism involving charge transfer is proposed.
