Abstract
The computing architecture and software developed to acquire and evaluate images from Cuban Giroimag MRI machines are presented. Giroimags computing systems are based on networked PCs forming a client/server architecture. The main principle applied in the system development is to take advantage of network computing and the power of modern personal computers. The goal proposed was to develop an open system, which permits to manipulate Giroimags from any networked computer and at the same time to give users all the possibilities to access every Giroimag scanning feature. The system developed eases the manipulation of Giroimag machines for image scanning and the resulting images could be accessed from every computer connected to the network. The proposed architecture could be easily integrated to Internet for remote image evaluation.
