Abstract
This paper describes the structure of solar image obtaining system in the Space Solar Telescope, including white-light image, magnetic field image, velocity field image and X-ray image. High resolution CCD cameras with 2048 X 1024 pixels will be used in the Space Solar Telescope, which need image processor has high speed image processing speed and high compression ratio process, for all the images must be stored in a limited memory before they are sent to the receiving station on the Earth. To obtain Solar magnetic field image and velocity field image, the image processor must process images from CCD camera in real-time speed, for this will make it possible to get the Solar object with short life time and save observing time. Here we discuss how to use a powerful DSP to do this job and some compression methods for saving and transferring the result image data.
