Abstract
This paper reports the ray trajectory and coupling efficiency of a GRIN ball lens and the functions of the ray trajectory in the rectangular coordinate and coupling efficiencies are given. According to analyzing the ray trajectory and coupling efficiencies, the focus performances inside/outside and at the surface of GRIN ball lenses are explained and accordance with them of the Maxwell fisheye lens, the Luneburg lens, and the generalized Luneburg lens.
