Abstract
This paper proposes a new method for 2-D direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation using L-shaped array. Some a blind source separation (BSS) algorithm is applied to the array observations to obtain estimates of array manifold matrixes. Then, elevation angles are first estimated based on the estimated array manifold matrix of z axis, and azimuth angles are obtained based on the estimated elevation angles and array manifold matrix of x axis. Finally, nonlinear least-squares method is applied to re-estimate the elevation and azimuth angles. Computer simulations are provided to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
