Abstract
Images obtained by airborne sensors are corrupted by distortions due to turbid and/or turbulent mediums between sensors and objects of interest on the ground. In this paper we present automated methods for compensating for this distortion by exploiting information available through use of multi-aperture passive imaging, and formation of composite bestpreserved enhanced imagery. Preliminary results of applying these methods on real and simulated data indicate their robustness in enhancing severely degraded imagery.
