We reconsider the possibilities of neutron focusing with mirrors, in particular for the applicability in the field of Small Angle Neutron Scattering (SANS). Focusing SANS-instruments are compared with the Dll-like pinhole instrument at the Grenoble reactor and with a Bonse-Hart-type Double Crystal Diffractometer (DCD). From intensity calculations and experimental intensity profiles it can be concluded that focusing SANS-instruments with high quality neutron mirrors will be superior to conventional pinhole instruments in the regime of a high scattering vector resolution δQ ≤ 10-3 Å-1. In addition, experiments with a neutron "lens" and a microbender consisting of microguides are presented.
