Abstract
Lasers are ubiquitous in the current world, with applications extending from outer-space communication to particle physics. The application of lasers in optical communication and biomedical instrumentation has grown leaps and bounds in the past three decades. The commercial availability of different classes of lasers, from continuous wave lasers to ultrafast pulsed lasers, has widened research into their applications.
