Abstract
With the aggravation of the aging problem, more attention has been paid to the health of older adults, especially their mental health. As a common emotional disorder in older adults, the depressive disorder presents an increased prevalence rate that cannot be ignored in epidemiological studies. The influencing factors of depressive disorder in old age are complex and varied. How to effectively deal with different factors has always been a problem that researchers have been trying to solve. On the basis of summarizing the characteristics and influencing factors of late-life depression, this paper reviews the commonly used interventions to late-life depression, including the use of drugs, such as selective serotonin inhibitors and selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors, as well as non-pharmacological intervention methods, including psychotherapy represented by reminiscence therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and music therapy, non-invasive brain stimulation therapy represented by modified electroconvulsive therapy, and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation. The current application of these interventions is discussed in detail, and the possible development direction in the future is proposed.
