His research includes all-optical ultrafast signal processing using broadband wavelength conversion techniques based on engineered second-order nonlinearity; and third-order nonlinearity in engineered waveguides. It also covers the control of the stimulated Raman scattering effect in Kerr media using engineered pump pulses (e.g., Airy pulses) and its application. His current research focuses on multi-wavelength generation using stimulated Brillouin scattering and realization of complex-structure fiber Bragg gratings for Raman fiber lasers, for applications in telecommunications and sensing. He has 2 patents and more than 85 publications.
