Profile Summary

Andrea Simaz was born in Brescia, Italy, in 1995. In 2017 he received the B.Sc. from Università degli Studi di Brescia and in April 2020 he received the M.Sc. degree from Politecnico di Torino, both in Electronic Engineering. His M.Sc thesis project has been developed at LAAS CNRS, Toulouse, France, and his research work focused on the analysis of a tunable liquid crystal VCSEL. Currently, he is a Ph.D. student at Walter Schottky Institute, Munich, Germany where his research interest are novel techniques to improve the performance of MID-IR LEDs and Edge Emitter Lasers on GaSb substrate.
