SPIE Involvement:
Author
Area of Expertise:
fibre/fiber optics , intelligent transport systems (ITS) , mathematical modelling , pulsed lasers , image processing , space qualified optics
Profile Summary

Gregor is a highly innovative and flexible individual with a track record of securing funding in order to deliver novel technical solutions, in technology domains including pulsed laser development, pattern recognition and optical metrology. He holds an engineering doctorate from University College London, is a Chartered Physicist, and holds 6 granted worldwide patents.

He worked on various projects for 10 years as an optical physicist/engineer with Europe's largest technology and research organisation (QinetiQ), latterly being promoted to Principal Research Scientist. He then moved to his current position, working as a Technology Analyst in a Senior Executive role for a non-departmental body of the Scottish Government, providing critical independent technical analysis of various technologies.
