Ricardo graduated at Brazilian Air Force Academy in 1993 as military pilot. From 1994 until 1997, became Operational Transport Pilot. From 1998 until 2003 was commissioned at BAF Academy as flight instructor, where worked as Operations and Commanding Officer of Aquila and Castor Squadrons and EW Systems professor. In 2002 became a specialist in EW Systems after attending the Electronic Warfare Specialization Course (CEAAE) and during 2003/2004 completed a Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering (EW/IR Systems - ITA/PPGAO) at Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA). In 2009, completed a Doctor's Degree at ITA also in Electronic Engineering, this time in IR detectors design (QWIP's design). During this period published national and international papers regarding IR detectors design and applications and EW systems; was the Chairman for the Electronic Warfare Conference (SIGE); as well as acted as Chief of ITA Electronic Warfare Lab (2007-2009). From 2010 until Jan/2013, Ricardo has been commissioned at Grupo de Acompanhamento e Controle in South Africa, where was the Coordinator for the BAF Joint Program Team at Detek / Denel Dynamics working with IR Systems development and technology transfer. In 2013 attended the BAF Command and Staff Course.
Since January 2014, Ricardo is working as Subdirector forTesting and Evaluation and REsearch and Development Departments of COMGAR's Institute for Operational Applications.
