Profile Summary

Dr. Sena Tayfur, affiliated with the Department of Civil Engineering at Ege University, specializes in Structural Engineering and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of Structures. She developed an innovative technique in her PhD thesis that improves the acoustic emission method for damage detection in concrete structures. She also worked as a visiting researcher at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), Nondestructive Evaluation Laboratory, USA for a year with the postdoctoral scholarship grant by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkiye (TUBITAK). She is currently focusing on the advancement and implementation of NDT methodologies for damage detection of infrastructure systems. She continues her research on numerous national and international collaborative projects supported by the universities, TUBITAK and Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). She is also skilled in programming and modelling.
